In February 2014, I started sparking conversations with complete strangers on the streets of New Orleans. It was the beginning of my city-wide street portrait story project, NOLAbeings. Since then, I've interviewed well over 1,000 people across the city, and the project has brought in over 45k followers across social media. It's been an honor to have the project featured in outlets like TIME, Wired, The Wall Street Journal, Amazon's DP Review, WGNO's News with a Twist, and New Orleans Magazine. NOLAbeings is not just a way for me to learn more about my chosen city from the people within it, it's an attempt to inspire others to have meaningful conversations with strangers too. I believe we become more connected, more empathetic, more human when we listen to each other’s stories and share our own.
